Former Western New York resident Georgia Ann Mullen will read from books in her Canal Tales Series Sunday, Sept. 19 at the World Canals Conference in Rochester, NY.
Georgia’s readings from A Shocking & Unnatural Incident and Wixumlee Is My Salvation will highlight how canals fit into her historical novels. Among the sites mentioned in the books are the Erie Canal, Cayuga-Seneca Canal, Buffalo Harbor, Commercial Slip, Genesee River, Corn Hill, Rochester Aqueduct and the small towns of Seneca Falls, Avon and Geneseo.
She will read from 1-1:30 p.m. in Breakout Room No. 1 in the Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial and sign books from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Her appearance is part of Community Day, a free, public event featuring musicians, writers, actors, storytellers, a flotilla, and tour of historic Corn Hill, among other events.
Georgia is a former newspaper reporter, magazine writer and editor. She is writing the third book in the Canal Tales Series at her home in Wilmington, NC.
