I wish people would stop saying “pimp out” or “pimp up.” Pimps do not deserve the glory of having an expression named after them. Pimps are mean men who earn money off the backs of captured, brain-washed, maltreated young girls and young women. Pimps are lazy, conniving and manipulating. There’s nothing glamorous about being pimped up. A young girl who’s been pimped up has been beaten up.
Before finding the illustrations accompanying this article, I searched online for “pimp photos” and received 46,900,000 results. They are that popular.
I was offered the opportunity to view the 99,916 best pimp photos, images and pictures. I could also peruse the best 1970s pimp pictures, the implication being that the ’70s were the heyday of pimp glory. Don’t know. Didn’t pursue it.
Ever listen to the song “Serious Pimp” by Snoop Dogg (before he became Snoop Lion and claimed he wasn’t a serious pimp)? The repeating mantra “bitch better have my money” tells it all. That’s what pimps want. Money and power.
Is prostitution modern day slavery? No. There’s nothing modern about it.
Cultural history calls prostitution the oldest occupation, but I bet it didn’t take long for some dud, barely out of the cave and
too lazy to either hunt or gather,
to start bartering off a female trying to feed her kids.
Remember the cartoon of the caveman dragging off a woman after thumping her over the head with his club? He wasn’t her mate. He was her pimp. And she was his victim.
